Bomb Girls is a six-part Canadian miniseries set in the 1940s. The show follows the lives of six women working at a munitions factory during the second world war, and how the war and attendant social change affected their lives. The show deals with ethnic tensions, workplace sexism, and queer themes as they existed in 1941, when the show is set. The show stars Meg Tilly, Jodi Balfour, Ali Liebert, and Charlotte Hegele.

Summary: From the outside, Revenge may look like your typical show about bored, pretty rich people, but the reality of it is a much darker, much more twisted, and much more interesting tale. It’s the Count of Monte Cristo set in the present day Hamptons; it is not, as our stoic and endlessly endearing main character informs us, a story about forgiveness. It’s a story about, you guessed it, revenge, and the lengths that people will go to achieve that, but it’s so much more than that, as well. It’s a story about the lies we tell the world, and the lies that we tell ourselves. It’s the story of Emily, a woman who’s father was framed for funding terrorist organizations by the people he considered friends, and by the woman he loved. Their lives were torn apart after that; Emily’s father went to prison where he was eventually murdered, and those very same people worked to get Emily committed until she could be brainwashed into believing her fathers guilt. After she was released at the age of 18, Nolan, her future confidant and only true friend, came to tell her the truth about what had happened to her father, and to offer his assistance in getting retribution.
